Cyber Resiliency and Measurement (CRAM) Prize Challenge - October 22nd & 23rd
1st Place: George Mason University
2nd Place: University of Southern Florida
3rd Place: Naval Academy
CRAM was a cyber focused prize challenge our warfare center division is hosting in the Fall. Our Cyber Resiliency and Measurement Challenge is open to collegiate undergraduate and graduate students and will offer a number of unique opportunities for the participants. First, there is a prize package of $125 thousand; so, that alone is worth consideration! Even more importantly though, the challenge offers a unique problem set that will give students a real world, hands-on opportunity to show off their current skills and without a doubt pick up some new skills. Finally, students will have the opportunity to interact with engineers working in this arena every day as well as have access to Human Resources professionals and hiring authorities.

Navigate with Nautilus: Webinar Series - October 24th
Guest Speaker: Dan Cohen
Company: FLITE
“Every active service member relies on industrial materiel, in everyday operations and in active conflict situations, in energy, tools and transportation. Protective coatings are applied to this materiel and when they inevitably fail due to rust, fouling, or ice, the warfighter bears the risk. Every year defense spending is over $20B on rust alone. Cleaning and reapplying coatings also takes critical equipment out of service.
FLITE introduces new technology that protects all materials using laser surface engineering instead of temporary coatings. Without changing the basic properties of metal, glass, plastic and other materials, our technique crafts a surface texture that cleans and protects itself without a coating. For situations that require a barrier, we offer diamondlike coatings and amorphous metal unlike anything in the marketplace. We are working hard to get this technology out of the lab and into manufacturing and field maintenance installations.
As graduates of the Techstars Air Force accelerator, our dual-use and defense projects are to prevent ice on helicopters and drones, keep visors, radomes and cameras clear, prevent biofouling and corrosion on metal surfaces, and make better body armor. This is just a short list of the hundreds of benefits that FLITE can demonstrate.
Give us your most challenging problem at any scale and let us make your everyday materials extraordinary.” -
